Frequently Asked Questions
Who can take JII certifications?
Our certifications are open to all institutions and individual learners. There are no prerequisites for Tier 1 (Practitioner) certifications. Tier 2 certifications require either a completed Tier 1 certification or demonstrated professional experience in the field.
How are exams administered?
Exams are conducted online through our secure proctoring platform. Institutions with Affiliated or Accredited status can also host in-person exam sessions. All exams include both theoretical and practical components.
What is the validity period of JII certifications?
JII certifications are valid for 3 years. After expiry, certified professionals can renew by passing a shorter recertification exam or earning continuing education credits.
How do institutions become certified partners?
Institutions apply through our partnership portal. After a review process (typically 2-3 weeks), approved partners receive branding materials, exam access, and onboarding support. See the Institutional Licensing section above for tier details.
Are JII certifications recognized internationally?
JII certifications are developed in alignment with international standards (ISO 17024) and are recognized across East Africa. We are actively pursuing mutual recognition agreements with global certification bodies.
